Three Magazine
The pilot issue of Three Magazine, by us.
Petrichor
pet·ri·chor
/ˈpeˌtrīkôr/
noun
a pleasant smell that frequently accompanies the first rain after a long period of warm, dry weather.
“other than the petrichor emanating from the rapidly drying grass, there was not a trace of evidence that it had rained at all”
Less interested in remedying the problems of the world we live in, we are squeezing every drop of its resources to build a new one with the same failing structures, where we can escape to attend a concert in Fortnite or Minecraft while it withers.
Petrichor represents a new beginning. One that can only come from a moment of interruption in an otherwise perpetual insipidity. Our pilot issue will exhibit the idea of a catalyst. The bulk of the narrative will be focused on the process of interruption and works that illustrate a capacity for reinterpretation. This will be prefaced by artworks directed at documenting our modern zeitgeist, and succeeded by a short epilogue of alternate futurism rooted in modern reality.
This issue features: Piper Ellis, Si Qiao, Shir Raz, Bo Yang Hu, Cathrine LoMedico, Philipp Aduatz, Hudiegongzhu, Totô de Babalong, Julia Ballardt, Zhongqi Liu, Feng.
